St Marys PTA News Letter

Happy New Year

Looking Back. 2011 was a very successful year for the PTA, although we were not able to have our ‘Party in the Playground’, due to the building work, we have still managed to raising over £2,500 since September.

Film club is going from strength to strength, the Pamper Evening is now an annual event and September saw the second, but we hope not last, quiz evening. Our Christmas faire was once again a great event of unity between school and Parish.

So where has your money gone? The PTA has once again helped out the Easter Bunny and Father Christmas, providing presents for all the children. We also supplied the food for the Christmas parties. Last summer we bought medals for the school teams and refreshments for Sports Day, (still used even though the weather put pay to the races). The staff gave us a long wish list for when our new school is built. In the meantime we are looking into getting an author/artist into school to work with the children as well as also seeking out a theatre group to entertain all our children.

The Year Ahead. The diary is already filling up. Our ‘Pamper Evening’, is booked for 7th March, film club will kick off the New Year on Thursday 2nd February with ‘Mr Poppers Penguins’. We also hope to have a Quiz and Curry evening before Easter. If you have any ideas for fund raising events, then let a member of the PTA know, or better still come along to our meetings. We next meet on Wednesday 18th January, 7pm, New Inns.

* January Sale* We have about ten copies of the school calendar still available, now at the sale price of £5.00. If you would like a copy please send your payment into the school office, marked PTA Calendar.
